It is an ecologically responsible flooring material with no harmful substances: it contains no lead, no formaldehyde, no plasticizers, and no chlorine. Marmoleum is true Linoleum, and should not be confused with vinyl, which is often mistakenly referred to as linoleum. Marmoleum will last 40 or more years, wheras vinyl floors will usually last only 10-15 years before the pattern has been worn.
Advantages of Marmoleum Natural Linoleum
- Linoleum requires very little care other than regular sweeping and mopping, and does not need to be waxed or buffed.
- The pattern of Marmoleum is the same through the depth of the product, and so is not just a printed pattern as vinyl floors are. The advantage of this is that a small nick will not show a strongly contrasting color as is so often the case with vinyl.
- Marmoleum is anti-static, which means it doesn't collect dust and dirt doesn't stick well. It also makes it a preferable floor where sensitive electronics are kept, as there is much less static buildup created.
Marmoleum comes in sheets (jute backing), tiles (polyester backing), and Click floating panels.
The Sheet product is 6'7" wide and is installed with a solvent
free adhesive. Tiles are available in 13"x13" sizes, and are also glued down. Floating, "Click" panels are available in 12"x36" and 12" x 12" (approximately).
The beautiful, unique appearance of Marmoleum is achieved through the combination
of multiple colors to create a single color way. Shades that appear soft
and muted are achieved by mixing 3 to 4 complimentary colors, while bolder
contrasting shades combine 7 or 8 contrasting colors to achieve a deeper,
more heavily marbled visual.
With over 150 colors to choose from, Marmoleum lets you set the tone. From soft
and muted to bold and vibrant, and anywhere in between, Marmoleum has
a shade for you! |
